Dear Secondary Community ~ I hope that everyone had a very enjoyable Thanksgiving holiday! It is always good to take time to pause and express gratitude for the people, things, and experiences, that bring us joy. It is my pleasure to share that I have been, and continue to be, thankful to be a part of this community. I greatly appreciate our dedicated teachers and students who work together to ensure that optimal learning is taking place at ACS in a supportive and caring environment. Please note that this week is the penultimate week of the quarter ( December 2-6 ), and that the final week of the quarter ( December 9-13 ) will consist of a different schedule. During the week of December 9th, school hours will remain the same, with the exception of Friday, the 13th, when students will be dismissed at 12 noon. It is imperative that students attend school as final assessments are taking place in the form of exams and/or projects and/or presentations. I am very pleased to share with y...

Dear Secondary Community, Congratulations to the entire STUCO Team, Parent Reps, parents, and students for a wonderfully successful Family Day Picnic on Saturday!! I quickly learned why this event is so special and beloved by our community. Despite the bits of rain, it was a wonderful day all around and could not be such a success without hours of preparation and coordination. Again, a huge THANK YOU to our community! On Sunday, our boy's soccer team played in the final of the Nissan Cup at Cancha Cochabamba. It was a classic tight match, with the Cougars putting on immense pressure throughout the game. Although St. Andrew's had a 1-0 victory, our boys should feel very proud to have made it to the final and to have out up a solid final match.  We have a short week ahead and one that I hope gives everyone the opportunity to pause and express gratitude. I continue to be very grateful to be a part of the Cougar Community and greatly appreciate the positive feedback that many of ...

Dear Secondary Community ~ It is my pleasure to share with you the following highlights from the past week and the week ahead below: Last Week: Progress Reports were sent to students and parents on Friday, November 15th, for students currently at below 70% in any course. This practice aims to serve as an alert for students and parents that we need to make some changes to ensure our students are practicing effective approaches to learning and are making progress in gaining the expected knowledge, skills, and understanding in the respective courses. Please do not hesitate to reach out to teachers to better understand what steps need to be taken to ensure students are rising to expectations.  The high school Friendship Games in Cochabamba were a success! Not only competition-wise, with our students placing 1st in boys soccer, 2nd in cheerleading, and 3rd in girls soccer, but in our students learning the importance of sportsmanship and behaving responsibly while traveling with a team a...

These conversations are invaluable in ensuring that students are supported both academically and personally. It was wonderful to see so many of you actively engaging in your child's learning journey.  Go, Cougars!   This week, our high school athletes and cheerleaders will be traveling to Cochabamba to compete in the Friendship Games from Wednesday to Saturday . This event is a fantastic opportunity for our students to showcase their skills, teamwork, and school spirit. To send them off in style, we’ll be holding a Pep Rally during FLEX on Tuesday, from 11:25 to 12:15. All parents are encouraged to attend and show their Cougar pride by dressing in white!  Absences due to Friendship Games are considered excused, and missed work must be completed/submitted in accordance with the excused...

It was a huge success and was clearly enjoyed by our school community and beyond! The creativity was highly impressive and the organization hugely appreciated. Congrats! Our boys high school soccer team scored a goal in the second half of the semi-final of the Nissan Cup on Friday to beat San Ignacio 1-0. This means the team moves onto the final against St. Andrews School. More details to follow - it would be great to have many fans at the game. Congrats to the team!! Our Grade 11 and Grade 12 students are in Madidi this week for their Classroom Without Walls experiential learning excursions. We look forward to hearing about their adventures when they return.
