  Secondary Principal Weekly Newsletter Dear Secondary Families, As we approach the mid-semester break, I would like to take a moment to wish all of our students and families a restful and enjoyable time. We look forward to welcoming students back to campus on Tuesday, April 7 . Please note that Monday, April 6 will be a Professional Learning Day for teachers , focused on strengthening our practice in meeting the needs of all learners, deepening our approach to anti-bullying, and reflecting on the professional growth that has taken place through our Communities of Practice this year.  Dear Secondary Families, I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of our students who participated in last week’s Cultural Convention. It was truly inspiring to see our learners engage so fully—celebrating culture, creativity, and collaboration. Our students represented ACS with pride, and we are incredibly grateful to the teachers, organizers, and families who made this meaningful experience possible. This week, we also want to thank our community for the enthusiastic support of the Middle School Cougar Cup . Events like these are a powerful reminder of the importance of teamwork, school spirit, and healthy competition in building a strong and connected school community.   March 13, 2026 Dear Secondary Families, This week our campus has been filled with energy, creativity, and cultural celebration as ACS proudly hosts the Cultural Convention . It has been many years since our school last hosted this event, and it is proving to be a tremendous success. The Opening Ceremony on Thursday morning was especially memorable. Students brought the stage to life through a powerful combination of dance, artistic tableaus, and body percussion , creating a dynamic performance that celebrated culture, collaboration, and student talent. It was a wonderful reminder of what can happen when students come together to express ideas through the arts. The Cultural Convention continues throughout the day on Friday and until noon on Saturday , with students participating in a range of performances and events. Secondary Principal Weekly Newsletter Dear Secondary Families, As we move further into March, there are several exciting events and important dates to share with our community. Next week, ACS Calvert will proudly host the Cultural Convention from March 12–14, involving more than 70 student participants from ACS and visiting schools. Cultural Convention is a highlight of the year, providing students with an opportunity to celebrate culture, creativity, and collaboration through artistic and academic performances and presentations. We look forward to a vibrant few days of exchange, talent, and community spirit. Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of celebrating International Women’s Day with our middle and high school students. The assembly featured a thought-provoking panel discussion, a lively trivia game highlighting influential women from around the world, and a beautiful artistic performance by our Grade 9 students.
