 Dear ACS Calvert Secondary Families, Thank you for your full support of our Local and Classroom Without Walls (CWW) trips. Our students were energized, reflective, and proud—the kind of responses supported by stepping outside the classroom and regular routines. These experiences build independence, empathy, and real-world problem-solving. We’re grateful to our teachers, staff, providers, and you for making this possible. Apology & Clarification I want to apologize again for the confusion regarding attendance on Friday, September 26. We will be more precise and group-specific in our communications going forward so every family knows exactly what to expect well ahead of time. Dear Secondary Community ~ This week we celebrate the wonderful spirit and accomplishments of our Middle School athletes and cheerleaders, who gave their all during the MS Cougar Cup for soccer and volleyball. Congratulations to every student who competed with heart and determination! A special thank you as well to our enthusiastic fans—your energy and support made the event even more memorable.  Looking ahead, next week brings our much-anticipated Classroom Without Walls (CWW) week. These experiences are always a highlight of the year, and we know this one will be a success for every student, whether traveling or participating in our local program. Dear Secondary Families, Thank you for joining our Classroom Without Walls meetings on Tuesday, September 9 and Wednesday, September 10. Your presence, questions, and encouragement mean a great deal to our team. Our partnership—working together to hold students to high expectations—is essential to their success. We’re grateful to be in this with you. Classroom Without Walls (CWW) We’re genuinely excited for CWW week ahead. For students who are not traveling, we have a rich program planned that keeps learning purposeful and connected to our community, including: City excursions for middle schoolers highlighting culture, history, and adventure in La Paz. Internships for high schoolers with partners such as Credifondo and Live Education. Practical Life Skills for high schoolers (e.g., cooking, budgeting, basic maintenance). September 5, 2025 Dear Secondary Families, I hope your September is off to a great start! We’ve had a joyful and productive week on campus—thank you for your continued partnership. Clubs: Belonging, Leadership, and Joy Our clubs program is in full swing, and the student energy is fantastic. From Origami and Chess to Arts and Crafts, Photography, Dungeons & Dragons, and much more, students are stepping up to lead, try new things, and build community. Why clubs matter for students: Belonging & Well-Being: Clubs help students find “their people,” which boosts confidence and school connectedness. Leadership & Voice: Students practice planning, facilitating, and reflecting—skills they’ll use in class, college, and life. Real-World Skills: From public speaking to project management, clubs offer authentic practice beyond the classroom.
