AI at Home
Dear Families ~ Over the weekend a few of us attended a virtual symposium hosted by AMISA on Artificial Intelligence. We learned the importance of ensuring our students are AI literate. While the definition of AI Literacy continues to develop, a general definition describes it as: AI literacy means having the essential abilities that people need to live, learn and work in our digital world through AI-driven technologies, and this should be taught at the K-12 levels ( Steinbauer et al., 2021 ). Shifting Schools ( www.shiftingschools.com ) is an organization that provides resources for furthering understanding of Artificial Intelligence. This week they posted Three Ways for Families to Experiment with AI. Check it out here , and have some fun with a scavenger hunt, new recipes, and creating a family logo.
