 Dear Secondary Families,

I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all of our students who participated in last week’s Cultural Convention. It was truly inspiring to see our learners engage so fully—celebrating culture, creativity, and collaboration. Our students represented ACS with pride, and we are incredibly grateful to the teachers, organizers, and families who made this meaningful experience possible.

This week, we also want to thank our community for the enthusiastic support of the Middle School Cougar Cup. Events like these are a powerful reminder of the importance of teamwork, school spirit, and healthy competition in building a strong and connected school community.

Please join us on Monday, March 23rd, at 6:00pm at the Hard Rock Cafe in El Bosque to see our amazing student performers! These events are always a huge success and a supportive audience is very welcome!

Looking ahead, please note our special end-of-quarter schedule:

• Monday, March 23: Regular schedule (8:15 a.m. – 3:20 p.m.)

• Tuesday through Friday, March 24 to 27: Early dismissal (8:15 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.)

Following the break, students will return to classes on Tuesday, April 7.

This week, we were fortunate to have our Superintendent, Ms. Maria Inarra, speak with all secondary students. She shared an important message about what it truly means to be part of the ACS community. She emphasized that while academic achievement is important, it is even more critical that our students live out our core values:

• Character

• Curiosity

• Compassion

• Community

• Courageous Leadership

These values are at the heart of our mission to empower learners to be a force for good. Developing these qualities will not only shape our students’ success in school, but more importantly, who they become as individuals and contributors to society.

We ask for your continued partnership in reinforcing these values at home. When school and home work together, we create a powerful foundation that supports both the academic and personal growth of our students.

A message from our Drama Department:

"We invite the entire ACS community to celebrate World Theatre Day, a day dedicated to recognizing the value of theatre as a space for connection, reflection, and collective creation.

World Theatre Day is celebrated every March 27, a date established in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute (ITI), an organization associated with UNESCO that promotes cultural exchange and the development of theatre worldwide.

Each year, the ITI invites a distinguished figure from the performing arts to write the International World Theatre Day Message, which is read in theatres, schools, universities, and cultural spaces around the world. This gesture has become a shared ritual among artists, students, and theatre lovers, who mark the day by reflecting on the role of theatre in society.

The 2026 Message was written by actor Willem Dafoe and invites us to reflect on theatre as a space of presence, humanity, and live encounter between artists and audience.

You can always be part of this celebration. Remember: without an audience, there is no theatre."

Estimadas familias de Secundaria:

Quisiera extender mis más sinceras felicitaciones a todos nuestros estudiantes que participaron en la Convención Cultural de la semana pasada. Fue verdaderamente inspirador ver a nuestros alumnos involucrarse de manera tan plena, celebrando la cultura, la creatividad y la colaboración. Nuestros estudiantes representaron a ACS con orgullo, y estamos profundamente agradecidos con los docentes, organizadores y familias que hicieron posible esta experiencia tan significativa.

Esta semana, también queremos agradecer a nuestra comunidad por el entusiasta apoyo brindado a la Cougar Cup de Middle School. Eventos c

omo este nos recuerdan poderosamente la importancia del trabajo en equipo, el espíritu escolar y la sana competencia para construir una comunidad escolar fuerte y unida.

Mirando hacia adelante, les pedimos tomar nota de nuestro horario especial de fin de trimestre:

Lunes 23 de marzo: horario regular (8:15 a. m. – 3:20 p. m.)
De martes a viernes, del 24 al 27 de marzo: salida temprana (8:15 a. m. – 1:30 p. m.)

Después del receso, los estudiantes regresarán a clases el martes 7 de abril.

Esta semana, tuvimos la oportunidad de que nuestra Superintendente, Ms. Maria Inarra, se dirigiera a todos los estudiantes de Secundaria. Ella compartió un mensaje importante sobre lo que realmente significa ser parte de la comunidad de ACS. Enfatizó que, si bien el logro académico es importante, es aún más fundamental que nuestros estudiantes vivan nuestros valores esenciales:

Estos valores están en el centro de nuestra misión de empoderar a los estudiantes para ser una fuerza para el bien. Un mensaje de nuestro Departamento de Drama:

“Invitamos a toda la comunidad de ACS a celebrar el Día Mundial del Teatro, una fecha dedicada a reconocer el valor del teatro como un espacio de encuentro, reflexión y creación colectiva.

El Día Mundial del Teatro se celebra cada 27 de marzo, fecha establecida en 1961 por el Instituto Internacional del Teatro (ITI), una organización asociada a la UNESCO que promueve el intercambio cultural y el desarrollo del teatro a nivel mundial.

Cada año, el ITI invita a una figura destacada de las artes escénicas a escribir el Mensaje Internacional del Día Mundial del Teatro, el cual se lee en teatros, escuelas, universidades y espacios culturales de todo el mundo. Este gesto se ha convertido en un ritual compartido entre artistas, estudiantes y amantes del teatro, quienes conmemoran esta fecha reflexionando sobre el papel del teatro en la sociedad.

El mensaje de 2026 fue escrito por el actor Willem Dafoe y nos invita a reflexionar sobre el teatro como un espacio de presencia, humanidad y encuentro vivo entre artistas y público.
