Dear Secondary Families,

As we move further into March, there are several exciting events and important dates to share with our community.


Next week, ACS Calvert will proudly host the Cultural Convention from March 12–14, involving more than 70 student participants from ACS and visiting schools. Cultural Convention is a highlight of the year, providing students with an opportunity to celebrate culture, creativity, and collaboration through artistic and academic performances and presentations. We look forward to a vibrant few days of exchange, talent, and community spirit.

Earlier this week, we had the pleasure of celebrating International Women’s Day with our middle and high school students. The assembly featured a thought-provoking panel discussion, a lively trivia game highlighting influential women from around the world, and a beautiful artistic performance by our Grade 9 students. It was a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the contributions of women throughout history and to inspire our students to continue working toward equity and opportunity for all.

Looking ahead, please keep the following important dates in mind:

  • End of Quarter 3: March 27
  • March Break: March 30 – April 6
  • Students Return to School: April 7

Parent Tip: Monitoring Screen Time

Adolescents benefit from clear boundaries around technology use. Consider establishing screen-free times at home, such as during meals or before bedtime, and encouraging students to keep phones outside of the bedroom overnight. Regularly checking in with your child about how they are using technology—not just how much—can also help foster healthy digital habits and open conversations about balance, sleep, and well-being.

Boletín Semanal – Dirección de Secundaria

Estimadas familias de Secundaria:

A medida que avanzamos en el mes de marzo, queremos compartir con ustedes algunos eventos emocionantes y fechas importantes para nuestra comunidad escolar.

La próxima semana, ACS Calvert tendrá el orgullo de ser sede de la Convención Cultural del 12 al 14 de marzo, recibiendo a más de 70 estudiantes participantes de ACS y colegios invitados. La Convención Cultural es uno de los momentos más destacados del año, ya que brinda a los estudiantes la oportunidad de celebrar la cultura, la creatividad y la colaboración a través de presentaciones artísticas, académicas, y culturales. Esperamos disfrutar de unos días llenos de talento, intercambio cultural y espíritu comunitario.

A principios de esta semana también celebramos el Día Internacional de la Mujer con nuestros estudiantes de secundaria. La asamblea incluyó un panel de discusión muy enriquecedor, un juego de trivia sobre mujeres influyentes de distintas épocas y ámbitos, y una hermosa presentación artística realizada por estudiantes de 9º grado. Fue una oportunidad significativa para reflexionar sobre las contribuciones de las mujeres a lo largo de la historia e inspirar a nuestros estudiantes a seguir promoviendo la equidad y las oportunidades para todos.

Les pedimos tomar nota de las siguientes fechas importantes:

  • Fin del tercer trimestre: 27 de marzo
  • Vacaciones de marzo: 30 de marzo – 6 de abril
  • Regreso a clases: 7 de abril

Consejo para padres: Supervisar el tiempo frente a pantallas

Los adolescentes se benefician de tener límites claros en el uso de la tecnología. Considere establecer momentos libres de pantallas en casa, como durante las comidas o antes de dormir, y animar a los estudiantes a dejar los teléfonos fuera del dormitorio durante la noche. Conversar regularmente con sus hijos sobre cómo utilizan la tecnología —no solo cuánto tiempo la usan— puede ayudar a fomentar hábitos digitales saludables y promover un mejor equilibrio, descanso y bienestar.

From creative academic showcases and experiences to meaningful moments of celebration, our campus has been alive with purpose, pride, and joy. Impactful teaching and learning continues to take place throughout our campus. It was a pleasure to see so many parents engaging with teachers and learning more about the year ahead. Semester 2 Awards Assembly We are pleased to announce that the Awards Assembly recognizing student achievements from Semester 2 of the 2024–2025 school year will take place on Thursday, August 28th, at 11:15 a.m. in the Theater .
