Secondary School Weekly Update – Carnaval Holiday & Progress Reports Reminder

Dear ACS Calvert Secondary Families,

As we continue moving through an exciting and productive February, we would like to share a few important reminders for the coming week.

🎭 Carnaval Holiday Reminder
Please note that Monday, February 16 and Tuesday, February 17 are school holidays in celebration of Carnaval. We hope this festive time provides your family with opportunities to rest, celebrate, and enjoy time together. Classes will resume on Wednesday, February 18, and we look forward to welcoming students back ready to continue their learning.

📊 Progress Reports – Friday, February 13
Progress Reports will be sent home on Friday, February 13. These reports serve as a positive and proactive checkpoint to help students reflect on their academic progress and, importantly, their Approaches to Learning, including organization, responsibility, engagement, and perseverance.

We strongly encourage families to review these reports together with their child. These conversations are valuable opportunities to celebrate successes and identify areas where additional support or focus may be beneficial.

If you have questions or concerns after reviewing your child’s Progress Report, we encourage you to reach out and schedule a meeting with your child’s teacher(s). Our teachers value partnership with families and are always willing to collaborate to support student growth and success.

Actualización Semanal de Secundaria – Recordatorio de Carnaval e Informes de Progreso

Estimadas familias de Secundaria de ACS Calvert,

Mientras continuamos avanzando en un mes de febrero lleno de actividades y aprendizaje, deseamos compartir algunos recordatorios importantes para la próxima semana.

🎭 Recordatorio de Feriado de Carnaval
Les recordamos que el lunes 16 y martes 17 de febrero son feriados escolares en celebración del Carnaval. Esperamos que este tiempo festivo les brinde la oportunidad de descansar, celebrar y disfrutar en familia. Las clases se reanudarán el miércoles 18 de febrero, y esperamos recibir nuevamente a nuestros estudiantes listos para continuar con su aprendizaje.

📊 Informes de Progreso – Viernes 13 de febrero
Los Informes de Progreso serán enviados a casa el viernes 13 de febrero. Estos informes funcionan como un punto de control positivo y proactivo para ayudar a los estudiantes a reflexionar sobre su progreso académico y, especialmente, sobre sus Enfoques de Aprendizaje, incluyendo organización, responsabilidad, participación y perseverancia.

Recomendamos encarecidamente que las familias revisen estos informes junto a sus hijos. Estas conversaciones son oportunidades valiosas para celebrar logros e identificar áreas donde pueda ser necesario brindar apoyo o mayor atención.

Si después de revisar el Informe de Progreso tienen preguntas o inquietudes, los invitamos a comunicarse y programar una reunión con los profesores de su hijo(a). Nuestros docentes valoran el trabajo en conjunto con las familias y siempre están dispuestos a colaborar para apoyar el crecimiento y éxito de los estudiantes.

From creative academic showcases and experiences to meaningful moments of celebration, our campus has been alive with purpose, pride, and joy. Impactful teaching and learning continues to take place throughout our campus. A couple of examples this week include high school Social Science students engaging in interview simulations with outside guests - a meaningful real-world experience that will surely yield long term impact. On Wednesday afternoon, our Middle School Math Fair took center stage for the first time—and what an outstanding debut it was! Secondary Principal’s Weekly Newsletter August 22, 2025 Dear Secondary Families, Thank you for joining us at Back to School Night this past Wednesday. It was a pleasure to see so many parents engaging with teachers and learning more about the year ahead. Your partnership is vital to our students’ success, and we greatly appreciate your presence and support. Semester 2 Awards Assembly We are pleased to announce that the Awards Assembly recognizing student achievements from Semester 2 of the 2024–2025 school year will take place on Thursday, August 28th, at 11:15 a.m. in the Theater . We look forward to celebrating our students’ accomplishments together as a community. High School Community Service Program High school students filled out a form indicating their top three choices of  Community Service Project for the year.
