 Dear ACS Calvert Secondary Families,

Thank you to everyone who filled the campus on Wednesday evening for our BOLIWOOD Art, Drama, and Tech Showcase. Congratulations to all of our student artists, performers, technicians, and the faculty who guided them, your creativity and teamwork made the night truly special!

Progress Reports are being sent via email today to students achieving below 70% in any course. These are meant to be a supportive measure to ensure students reflect on their approaches to learning and seek support from teachers.

La Paz Holiday: No School Friday
A friendly reminder that this Friday is a public holiday in La Paz in celebration of the country’s bicentennial. School will be closed. Enjoy the day celebrating this amazing and beautiful country!

Holiday Concert: Friday, November 21 (Evening)
Please join us for our Holiday Concert on Friday, November 21. It’s a wonderful chance to celebrate the season and our students’ musical growth. We look forward to seeing you there!

Principal Professional Learning: NEASC Conference (Boston)
Next week, I will be presenting at the NEASC Conference in Boston. I’m honored to represent ACS Calvert and will bring back insights to strengthen our work here at home. This professional learning opportunity is fully funded by external support, not by any school funds.

HS Friendship Games: November 23–26 (Santa Cruz)
Our high school athletes will travel to Santa Cruz, November 23–26, for Friendship Games. We’re proud of our student-athletes; please join us in wishing them safe travels and strong Cougar spirit!

Thanksgiving Break: November 27–28 (No School)
We will celebrate Thanksgiving on November 27–28. There is no school on those days. Enjoy the long weekend with family and friends, and may you find enjoy in expressing gratitude for and with one another.

MS MAP Testing: Reports Coming Soon
Middle School MAP testing is complete. Thank you for your support with schedules and routines. Reports will be shared in the near future.

A Personal Note
After much deliberation, I have decided that I will not be returning to ACS for the 2026–2027 school year. I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow with this community, and I look forward to continuing our work together through the end of this school year. Thank you for your support and for all you do for our students every day.

Gracias a todos quienes llenaron el campus el miércoles por la noche para nuestra Muestra BOLIWOOD de Arte, Teatro y Tecnología. ¡Felicitaciones a todos nuestros estudiantes artistas, intérpretes y técnicos, y al profesorado que los acompañó; su creatividad y trabajo en equipo hicieron de la noche algo verdaderamente especial!

Los Informes de Progreso se están enviando hoy por correo electrónico a los estudiantes que registran menos del 70 % en cualquier curso. Estos informes tienen como propósito brindar apoyo para que los estudiantes reflexionen sobre sus enfoques de aprendizaje y busquen acompañamiento de sus docentes.

Feriado en La Paz: No hay clases el viernes
Un recordatorio amistoso de que este viernes es feriado en La Paz en celebración del bicentenario del país. La escuela estará cerrada. ¡Disfruten el día celebrando este hermoso y maravilloso país!

Concierto de Fiestas: viernes 21 de noviembre (por la tarde/noche)
Acompáñennos en nuestro Concierto de Fiestas el viernes 21 de noviembre. Es una excelente oportunidad para celebrar la temporada y el crecimiento musical de nuestros estudiantes. ¡Esperamos verlos allí!

Desarrollo profesional de la dirección: Conferencia NEASC (Boston)
La próxima semana, estaré presentando en la Conferencia NEASC en Boston. Es un honor representar a ACS Calvert y traer de regreso aprendizajes que fortalezcan nuestro trabajo. Ésta oportunidad de desarrollo profesional está financiada íntegramente por apoyo externo y no implica ningún gasto para la escuela.

Juegos de la Amistad (HS): 23–26 de noviembre (Santa Cruz)
Nuestros atletas de High School viajarán a Santa Cruz del 23 al 26 de noviembre para los Juegos de la Amistad. Estamos orgullosos de nuestros estudiantes-atletas; ¡acompañémoslos deseándoles un viaje seguro y mucho espíritu Cougar!

Receso de Acción de Gracias: 27–28 de noviembre (no hay clases)
Celebraremos Acción de Gracias el 27 y 28 de noviembre. No habrá clases esos días. Disfruten el fin de semana largo en familia y que encuentren alegría al expresar gratitud por y con los suyos.

Evaluaciones MAP (MS): reportes próximamente
Las evaluaciones MAP de Middle School han concluido. Gracias por su apoyo con los horarios y rutinas. Los reportes serán compartidos en un futuro cercano.

Nota personal
Después de una profunda reflexión, he decidido que no regresaré a ACS para el año escolar 2026–2027. Estoy profundamente agradecida por la oportunidad de aprender y crecer con esta comunidad, y espero continuar nuestro trabajo conjunto hasta el final del presente año escolar. Gracias por su apoyo y por todo lo que hacen por nuestros estudiantes cada día.

From creative academic showcases and experiences to meaningful moments of celebration, our campus has been alive with purpose, pride, and joy. Impactful teaching and learning continues to take place throughout our campus. A couple of examples this week include high school Social Science students engaging in interview simulations with outside guests - a meaningful real-world experience that will surely yield long term impact.
