Secondary Principal Weekly Update

Dear Secondary Families,

With just three weeks left in the school year, our campus is full of energy and excitement as we head into the final stretch. This is a time for celebration, reflection, and honoring the achievements of our students and community.

We’d like to give a huge congratulations to the National Honor Society for hosting an outstanding Fashion Show on Wednesday night. The event was not only stylish and entertaining, but it also highlighted the leadership, creativity, and collaboration that define our students. Thank you to all who supported this joyful event!

Looking ahead, we have a full calendar of key events as we wrap up the year:

  • Saturday, May 17 – Our Annual Garage Sale will take place on campus. This is a great opportunity to support sustainable practices while connecting with the community.

  • Monday, May 19 - University Counselor, Carolina Blanco, and Social Sciences Head of Department, Jared McGrath are hosting a presentation directed to high school parents about navigating the current climate in US University admissions. In the secondary library from 8:30-9:30.

  • Wednesday, May 21 – We’ll host an Athletics Lunch to honor all of our student-athletes for their commitment and success throughout the year. That evening, we invite you to campus for a series of friendly soccer matches against the German School as we inaugurate our brand-new scoreboard—a great evening of sportsmanship and school pride!

  • Thursday, May 22 – Join us for our Combined Arts Showcase, an inspiring evening that will feature visual art and drama. Come celebrate the creativity and talent of our student artists!

  • Wednesday, May 28th - Our Middle School students are hosting a Math Fair, showcasing their projects that celebrate Bolivia culture. 12:15 to 1:25 in the gym. Please join us for this special event!

  • Thursday, May 29 – Our Senior Farewell celebration will give us a chance to honor the Class of 2025 as they prepare to graduate and move on to their next chapter.

  • Friday, May 30 - End of Quarter Schedule begins. Secondary students are dismissed at 1:30pm.

  • Thursday, June 5 – The Grade 8 Milestone Ceremony will mark the important transition from middle school to high school.

  • Friday, June 6 – We conclude the year with our Graduation Ceremony, celebrating the accomplishments and futures of our seniors.

This week, we also had the pleasure of welcoming our rising 6th graders during their Transition Week. They explored their new learning environment, watched welcome videos, and met key members of the MS staff. We’re thrilled to welcome this group to middle school and are confident they will bring energy and curiosity to the year ahead.

Estimadas familias de secundaria:

Con solo tres semanas restantes de clases, nuestro campus rebosa energía y entusiasmo al acercarnos a la recta final. Es un momento para celebrar, reflexionar y reconocer los logros de nuestros estudiantes y la comunidad.

Felicitamos enormemente a la Sociedad Nacional de Honor por el excepcional desfile de modas del miércoles por la noche. El evento no solo fue elegante y entretenido, sino que también destacó el liderazgo, la creatividad y la colaboración que definen a nuestros estudiantes. ¡Gracias a todos los que apoyaron este alegre evento!

De cara al futuro, tenemos un calendario completo de eventos clave para cerrar el año:

Sábado, 17 de mayo: Nuestra Venta de Garaje Anual se llevará a cabo en el campus. Esta es una gran oportunidad para apoyar prácticas sostenibles y conectar con la comunidad.

Lunes 19 de mayo - La consejera universitaria, Carolina Blanco, y el jefe del Departamento de Ciencias Sociales, Jared McGrath, ofrecerán una presentación dirigida a padres de estudiantes de preparatoria sobre cómo abordar el panorama actual de las admisiones a universidades estadounidenses. En la biblioteca de secundaria, de 8:30 a 9:30.

Miércoles, 21 de mayo: Organizaremos un Almuerzo Deportivo para reconocer a todos nuestros estudiantes-atletas por su compromiso y éxito durante todo el año. Esa noche, los invitamos al campus para una serie de partidos amistosos de fútbol contra el Colegio Alemán, donde inauguramos nuestro nuevo marcador: ¡una gran noche de deportividad y orgullo escolar!

Jueves, 22 de mayo: Acompáñennos a nuestra Exhibición de Artes Combinadas, una noche inspiradora que incluirá artes visuales y teatro. ¡Vengan a celebrar la creatividad y el talento de nuestros estudiantes artistas!

Miércoles 28 de mayo: Nuestros alumnos de secundaria organizan una Feria de Matemáticas, donde presentarán sus proyectos que celebran la cultura boliviana. De 12:15 a 13:25 en el gimnasio. ¡Únanse a nosotros en este evento especial!

Jueves, 29 de mayo: Nuestra celebración de Despedida de Graduados nos dará la oportunidad de honrar a la Generación 2025 mientras se preparan para graduarse y pasar a su siguiente etapa.

Viernes, 30 de mayo: El fin del cuarto horario empieza. Los alumnos de secundaria salen a las 13:30.

Jueves, 5 de junio: La Ceremonia de Hitos de 8.º grado marcará la importante transición de la secundaria a la preparatoria.

Viernes, 6 de junio: Concluimos el año con nuestra Ceremonia de Graduación, celebrando los logros y el futuro de nuestros estudiantes de último año.

Esta semana, también tuvimos el placer de dar la bienvenida a nuestros alumnos que ingresarán a 6.º grado durante su Semana de Transición. Exploraron su nuevo entorno de aprendizaje, vieron videos de bienvenida y conocieron a miembros clave del personal de la secundaria. Nos emociona dar la bienvenida a este grupo a la secundaria y confiamos en que aportarán energía y curiosidad al año que comienza.

From creative academic showcases and experiences to meaningful moments of celebration, our campus has been alive with purpose, pride, and joy. Impactful teaching and learning continues to take place throughout our campus.
