Dear Secondary Families,

What a vibrant and exciting week we've had on campus! It was our great pleasure to host the inter-school Middle and High School Friendship Games this week. The spirit of sportsmanship, teamwork, and camaraderie was alive in every match, race, and cheer from the sidelines. We’re so proud of our student-athletes for their enthusiasm and dedication, and we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our parent community for your support—whether through volunteering, cheering in the stands, or helping our students prepare for their events. These games truly highlight the power of connection and community, both within our school and with our partner schools across the region.

A few important updates as we close out April and look ahead to May:

  • General Assembly – April 30 at 6:00 PM in the Theater: We invite all families to attend this important evening, which includes Board elections and a special sneak preview of our school musical, Epic. Your voice matters, and we hope you’ll join us!

  • No School on Thursday, May 1: A friendly reminder that May 1 is a national holiday and school will be closed.

  • Progress Reports: On Friday, May 2, we will send home progress reports for any student currently earning below 70% in any class. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to teachers or counselors if you have any questions or concerns about your child’s academic progress.

  • School Musical – Epic – Friday, May 2 at 7:00 PM: Mark your calendars for an unforgettable performance in the theater. Our students and staff have worked incredibly hard to bring this show to life, and we can’t wait to share it with you. All are welcome!

  • FLEX Period Update: The final FLEX period of the school year will be held on Wednesday, April 30. Students will attend an additional instructional block during that time, just as we did at the start of the year.

  • Campus Visit Protocols: As a reminder, if you would like to meet with a teacher, please be sure to schedule an appointment in advance through the school office or by contacting the teacher directly via email. For everyone’s safety and to maintain a productive learning environment, parents should not be walking unescorted around campus or approaching teachers unexpectedly. Any parent doing so will be kindly reminded of our protocol and directed to the office. We truly value our partnership with you, and following these expectations helps us maintain a safe and respectful environment for all.

  • CWW Planning: Updates regarding CWW plans will take place prior to the end of this school year. Please be on the look out for them! Note that a commitment to travel, along with a deposit, will be required prior to the end of this school year. Also, please note that a mandatory in-person meeting will be held for parents and students prior to the trips, during which behavior expectations will be explained and behavior contracts will be signed. 

Finally, as we approach the final stretch of the school year, we ask for your continued partnership in ensuring students arrive to school on time and maintain consistent attendance. Every class counts, and your support makes a big difference in helping students finish the year strong.

Estimadas familias de Secundaria:

¡Qué semana tan emocionante y llena de energía hemos vivido en el campus! Fue un placer enorme recibir los Juegos de la Amistad Interescolares de Secundaria y Preparatoria esta semana. El espíritu deportivo, el trabajo en equipo y la camaradería estuvieron presentes en cada partido, carrera y aplauso desde las gradas. Estamos muy orgullosos de nuestros estudiantes atletas por su entusiasmo y dedicación, y queremos extender un sincero agradecimiento a nuestra comunidad de padres por su apoyo—ya sea como voluntarios, animando desde las gradas o ayudando a sus hijos a prepararse para sus competencias. Estos juegos realmente destacan el poder de la conexión y la comunidad, tanto dentro de nuestra escuela como con las escuelas amigas de la región.

Algunas actualizaciones importantes mientras cerramos abril y nos preparamos para mayo:

  • Asamblea General – 30 de abril a las 6:00 PM en el teatro: Invitamos a todas las familias a asistir a esta importante velada, que incluirá las elecciones del Consejo Directivo y un avance especial del musical escolar Epic. ¡Su participación es muy valiosa y esperamos contar con ustedes!

  • No hay clases el jueves 1 de mayo: Les recordamos que el 1 de mayo es feriado nacional y no habrá clases.

  • Informes de progreso: El viernes 2 de mayo, se enviarán informes de progreso a casa para cualquier estudiante que actualmente tenga una calificación inferior al 70% en alguna materia. No duden en comunicarse con los docentes o consejeros si tienen preguntas o inquietudes sobre el progreso académico de su hijo/a.

  • Musical escolar – Epic – viernes 2 de mayo a las 7:00 PM: Marquen sus calendarios para una presentación inolvidable en el teatro. Nuestros estudiantes y docentes han trabajado arduamente para dar vida a este espectáculo, y estamos encantados de compartirlo con ustedes. ¡Todos están cordialmente invitados!

  • Actualización del periodo FLEX: El último periodo FLEX del año escolar se llevará a cabo el miércoles 30 de abril. Durante ese bloque, los estudiantes asistirán a una clase adicional como lo hicieron al comienzo del año.

  • Protocolos para visitar el campus: Les recordamos que, si desean reunirse con un docente, es necesario programar una cita con anticipación a través de la oficina o contactando directamente al docente por correo electrónico. Para garantizar la seguridad de todos y mantener un entorno de aprendizaje productivo, los padres no deben caminar libremente por el campus ni acercarse a los docentes sin cita previa. Cualquier padre que lo haga será amablemente recordado sobre este protocolo y será dirigido a la oficina. Valoramos profundamente la colaboración con las familias, y seguir estas expectativas fortalece una relación positiva y respetuosa entre hogar y escuela.

  • Planificación de CWW: Las actualizaciones sobre los planes de CWW se publicarán antes de que finalice este año escolar. ¡Estén atentos! Se requiere un compromiso de viaje y un depósito antes de que finalice este año escolar. Además, se realizará una reunión presencial obligatoria para padres y estudiantes antes de los viajes, donde se explicarán las expectativas de comportamiento y se firmarán los contratos de conducta.

Finalmente, al acercarnos al tramo final del año escolar, les pedimos su continuo apoyo para asegurar que los estudiantes lleguen puntualmente y mantengan una asistencia constante. Cada clase cuenta, y su colaboración marca una gran diferencia para que sus hijos/as terminen el año con éxito.
