Secondary Principal Weekly Update

Dear Secondary School Community,

During this past week secondary students made an increased effort to ensure that the FLEX block in our schedule operates smoothly. When students ensure that they know where they are going during FLEX ahead of time and show up on time at the correct location, our FLEX block runs beautifully. When students choose to use their time in ways other than for what FLEX is intended or do not show up as expected, it causes challenges. 

I encourage you to speak to your student(s) about how they are using their FLEX time. A student made a point of asking me to please keep FLEX going because he appreciates the opportunity to create art in the art studio so much. We most certainly value the choices and variety that FLEX provides and I’m confident that our students will continue to improve and make the most of these opportunities. 

We had the joy of celebrating our hardworking facilities team this Wednesday at an event hosted by our Facilities Manager, Ms. Bernarda Renjel. In addition to honoring our wonderfully kind and helpful team, it was a pleasure to get to know a little bit more about each one of them. 

A couple of reminders:

  • The last day to pick up lost and found items is Friday, January 17th (today!)

  • If MS choose to bring phones to school they should be stored in the office during school hours

  • Please assist your child in getting to school on time so that they are in their classroom and ready to learn promptly at 8:15. 

  • ECAs begin on Monday, January 20th.

Estimada Comunidad de Secundaria,

Durante esta semana, los estudiantes de secundaria han hecho un esfuerzo adicional para garantizar que el bloque FLEX en nuestro horario funcione sin problemas. Cuando los estudiantes se aseguran de saber con anticipación a dónde ir durante FLEX y llegan a tiempo al lugar correcto, nuestro bloque FLEX opera maravillosamente. Sin embargo, cuando los estudiantes eligen usar su tiempo para actividades distintas a las que está destinado FLEX o no se presentan como se espera, surgen desafíos.

Les animo a hablar con su(s) hijo(s) sobre cómo están utilizando su tiempo en FLEX. Un estudiante me comentó específicamente que, por favor, mantengamos FLEX porque valora mucho la oportunidad de crear arte en el estudio de arte. Sin duda, valoramos las opciones y la variedad que FLEX ofrece, y estoy seguro de que nuestros estudiantes seguirán mejorando y aprovechando al máximo estas oportunidades.

Tuvimos la alegría de celebrar a nuestro equipo de mantenimiento tan trabajador este miércoles, en un evento organizado por nuestra Gerente de Mantenimiento, la Sra. Bernarda Renjel. Además de honrar a nuestro maravilloso y amable equipo, fue un placer conocer un poco más a cada uno de ellos.

Algunos recordatorios:

  • El último día para recoger artículos perdidos y encontrados es el viernes 17 de enero (¡hoy!)

  • Si los estudiantes de MS deciden traer teléfonos a la escuela, deben guardarlos en la oficina durante el horario escolar.

  • Por favor, ayude a su hijo a llegar a tiempo a la escuela para que esté en su aula y listo para aprender puntualmente a las 8:15.

  • Las ECAs comienzan el lunes 20 de enero.

From creative academic showcases and experiences to meaningful moments of celebration, our campus has been alive with purpose, pride, and joy. Impactful teaching and learning continues to take place throughout our campus.
